The organisation began with a chance meeting with a differently-abled only performance group. The group had put up a mind-blowing performance that had left everyone in the audience mesmerized. Geeta Poduval, who was the host for the event was also left speechless from the exquisite performance that was put on.
She also met their Guru, a seemingly kind man who looked after the welfare of the performers under him and was very nice to them.
Three years passed and one day, Geeta received a call from one of the performers with a heartful plea,

The organization began with a chance meeting with a differently-abled-only performance group. The group had put up a mind-blowing performance that had left everyone in the audience mesmerized. Geeta Poduval, who was the host for the event was also left speechless from the exquisite performance that was put on.
She also met their Guru, a seemingly kind man who looked after the welfare of the performers under him and was very nice to them.
Three years passed and one day, Geeta received a call from one of the performers with a heartful plea,
“Didi, hum sabko nikal diya.”
(“Sister, he threw us all out.”)
She was filled with uneasiness for the young performers, who were still just children. She immediately flew to New Delhi to meet them and they narrated their entire ordeal to her.
Kindness of the Guru was just a façade. He regularly mistreated and neglected them. They were not even given the bare minimum compensation for the performances they had put. The Guru had also misbehaved with the young girls under his care. The children were also often isolated from other people so that they couldn’t narrate their ordeal or break themselves from that situation.
She & Ajay Kumar, a friend took in the children and supported them until they could get back on their feet. Through Geeta’s connections, the performers were able to get back on stage with a newfound vigour & enthusiasm. With dignity and pride in their talents.
This entire incident was regularly posted & updated on Geeta’s social media’s pages and that set off a barrage of people who reached out to her seeking help.
There were stories of denied opportunities, discrimination, exploitation & exclusion. This set into motion the beginning of DRZYASHAKTI. It has been moulded into a space for people who are looking for opportunities to grow, improve themselves and shine.
